Cory, on our way to your service yesterday, I heard Pennywise's "Bro Hymn" on the radio. It was so cool that such a a fitting song happened to be on. You're gone but the rest of us are all closer now because of you. Your Encinitas buddies wanna go surf sometime, so I'll have to show 'em what's up on the boogie. I still have your trunks and towel. I'll keep them. Thanks buddy. Random memories of you keep popping in my head, one of which was the night you, me and Jay stayed at my sister's pad in Aguanga and shot eachother w/ beebee guns. I have that pic somewhere and I'll get it up on this site soon. I miss you friend. We'll do our best to get you that 1st place trophy this season.
Cory, What a wonderful celebration of your life. Your memorial service brought much laughter and tears. I am truly honored to have known such a wonderful person. I am so thankful that I have so many wonderful memories, that I look back on and laugh about. You will be missed! Love you buddy! (BJACC)-Jamie (Trebelhorn) Davidson
Here is the North County Times article that Irv Erdos wrote: Click Here
Good morning, my HERO. By the time you read this, I know you will have had a good night's rest. It's suppost to get easier, right? Well, I hope easier happens sooner rather than later, because, frankly, being away from you is tearing me up inside. How was your day yesterday? Did you play soccer, or did you attend to the needs of other's? If I had a guess, I'm sure it would be the latter first and, then, you would get to the soccer. Please excuse me, Cory, if this is somewhat fragmented, because I keep getting distracted by visions of YOU. When I wrote to you yesterday morning about, among other things, the people who were present at YOUR MEMORIAL SERVICE, I forgot to mention many people specifically. So, I'm going to try and backtrack, although not with a 100% recall, and mention a few more that should have come to mind. Mel (the best brother-in-law anyone could ask for), Gayle, Jamai and Alexis, Landon, Trish, Sherry Fox, Maryann and Jay Erdos (who I met for the first time), Brian Howard, Martin Esquivel, Richard, Ashley, Conner, Chris and Carrie Erdos, Barbra and Irv (who wrote a marvelous article about you) Erdos, Vickie, Angie and Brigit Martinez... The list could go on and on, but I cannot remember them all. I know YOU can complete the list in its entirety, so I will leave that loving chore for you, Cory. I wish you had telephone lines up there so YOU could call home just for a moment and we could all tell YOU HOW MUCH WE LOVE YOU. "SAM" would also like to hear YOUR VOICE, because she keeps sniffing at your things with a longing look to see YOU, which makes me wish even more, that YOU could take, at least, a weekend trip back here to see US. I HOPE and PRAY that, someday soon, I will be able to fully understand and accept why HE takes, it seems, the "GOOD ONES". I am not questioning it; I am just longing for more understanding, which I hope will come in time. Have a great day, Cory, and YOU CAN BE SURE I WILL WRITE AGAIN. I LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH. .......DAD
IN THE WORDS OF BRUCE SPRINGSTEIN'S SONG- IM ON FIRE...
"SOMETIMES ITS LIKE SOMEONE TOOK A KNIFE ITCHY AND DULL AND CUT A SIX INCH VALLEY THRU THE MIDDLE OF MY SOUL. AT NIGHT I WAKE UP WITH THE SHEETS SOAKING WET, WITH A FREIGHT TRAIN RUNNING THRU THE MIDDLE OF MY HEAD, BUT YOU, YOU COOL MY DEISRE. IM ON FIRE."
YOU QUENCHED EVERYONES THRIST IN YOUR OWN WAY CORY, YOU WILL BE MISSED AND LOVED. SEE YOU SOON
SO ITS NEW YEARS EVE, 6:30AM AND I CANT SLEEP. SO MANY THINGS GOING THRU MY HEAD. THESE PAST FEW DAYS, I KEEP GETTING THESE RUSHES OF OLD SCHOOL MEMORIES OF THE FIVE OF US RAISING HELL @ REFORMATION. MAN, THOSE WERE SOME CLASSIC TIMES. MOST OF ALL, THE MEMORY I AM NOW MOST GRATFUL FOR IS THE LAST ONE I HAVE OF YOU. THE NIGHT, YOU, MYSELF, CHRISTY AND BROOKE ALL SAW EACHOTHER FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER. I HAD SEEN YOU FROM TIME TO TIME, BUT THIS TIME WAS DIFFERENT. WE HAD DINNER AND TALKED ABOUT THE OLD DAYS, ITS LIKE WE ALL HAD NEVER MISSED A BEAT, LIKE WE JUST PICKED UP WHERE WE LEFT OFF. I REMEMBER AFTER DINNER, YOU RODE WITH JUST ME IN MY CAR TO SECOND WIND IN NORTH PARK. WE TALKED ABOUT THINGS I THOUGHT WOULD NEVER BE SAID, I FELT SO CLOSE TO YOU, I FELT LIKE WE WERE TRUE FAMILY. SO WE GET TO THE WIND AND HAVE FEW BEERS AND KARAOKE BEGINS! WHO WOULD OF THOUGHT! YOU CAN SING! J/K AFTER ALL THE YEARS OF CHOIR WE ALL HAD, I SURE HOPED ONE US WOULD BE A ROCK STAR! WE BOTH SANG, I REMEBER WE JUST SCREAMED AND CHEERED EACHOTHER ON LIKE FANS AT A CONCERT. HUGGING EACHOTHER AND GIVING THE HI FIVES AT THE END. BESIDE THE KARAOKE, WE ALSO HADA NOTHER MISSION, YOU ASKED ME TO FIND YOU A GIRLFRIEND, A SWEET GIRL. WHAT A MISSION! I SPOTTED A GIRL, SHE JUST SO HAPPENED TO BE A FRIEND OF A FRIEND. THE SPARKLE IN YOUR EYES WHEN YOU SAW HER WAS LIKE YOU SAW AN ANGEL. YOU EXCHANGED A BIT OF CONVERSATION THEN #'S. TWO DATES, I BELIEVE WENT FROM THERE. I GUESS NOTHING SOLID, BUT YOU MADE A NEW FRIEND AT LEAST. IM GONNA MISS YOU CORY, ALL THE GOOD TIMES WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. I AM SO THANKFUL TO HAVE HAD THAT ONE LAST NIGHT WITH YOU, BROOKE AND CHRISTY, JUST LIKE OLD TIMES, BUT BETTER. YOU WERE AND WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF MY FAVORITE COUSINS, BUT YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF MY FIRST BEST FRIENDS. I'VE KNOWN YOU SINCE I WAS 4. THATS A LONG TIME, 21 YEARS OF BEING FRIENDS AND THEN BECOMING FAMILY. I LOVE YOU CORY...

"THE DINNER TAT'S FINALLY RIGHT!"
HAHAHA
I still can't believe you are gone. You were loved so much by so many. I guess I didn't think the last time I saw you 3 years ago would be the last time ever. I am so sorry to all Cory's family. Cory was an amazing person and it is only too unfortunate that we could not enjoy his presence for more than 26 years. I'll always remember those 'Big Cheese' band rehearsals. We had a lot of fun. Cory, you will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, my friend. I love you
Good morning buddy. I am just going to write, since paragragph breaks don't work. Cory, Martin Esquivel [and others , I'm sure] have arranged a soccer tournament in YOUR HONOR. Applebee's is also having a day in your honor. I am NOT surprised with the outpouring of LOVE and AFFECTION for YOU. I am so immensely proud of you and the kind of person YOU ARE. I am, indeed, honored and blessed that YOU are MY SON. I am sure you saw the enormous gathering of caring people at your Memorial Service...people from your childhood, people from Reformation Lutheran, including Pastor Smith and his wife, Nancy, people from my work, YOUR Friends current and past whose lives you have touched and who cared about you deeply, YOUR BROTHER, whose words of LOVE and AFFECTION were so eloquently written that I hold him in awe, Lisa, Holly, Summer, Sonja, your cousin Frank Bianchinni, who came down from Orange County, my long-time friends Joe LaPlante and Mike and Mari Fink, Dahn, Shannon, Phoenix, Saige and Shea, Dot, Jerry & Mike from next door to us...My God, Cory, the list goes on and on. All that LOVE for YOU CORY. Please touch us all each and every day of our mortal lives, until we are all reunited with YOU, so that you can pass on to us that remarkable ability of LOVE AND COMPASSION. Help us all to make this a better world everyday and appreciate what each person brings positively to that day. CORY, I LOVE YOU WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING.
This is a repost but I want to get the word out to everyone that I can...
Please keep Saturday January the 14th from 1pm to 4pm open. I have been given the use of the field at the Escondido Sports Center. Here is the idea, we are going to play 20 min pick up games for the three hours we have the field. All skill levels are welcome. We are going to be collecting donations for the Denton family. Guys and girls of any ability are more than welcome. The only thing you need are shoes, shin guards, socks to cover the shin guards and be ready for a good time. If you do not have a Sports Center player card, you will need to fill out a one day waiver. If you are interested, please let me know. It will be helpful to have an idea of how many players to expect. Please tell all of your friends...
